Dental Services

From routine cleanings and fillings to bruxism devices, Olson Dental is equipped to handle all your dental needs. To help you understand your options, we've included descriptions of some of our leading services on this page.

Invisalign

Invisalign can help you get the great smile you’ve always wanted because it’s… Invisible, so no one can tell you’re straightening your teeth. So now you can smile more during treatment as well as after.

Removable, so you can eat and drink what you want while in treatment, plus brushing and flossing are no problem.

Comfortable, because it has no metal to cause mouth abrasions during treatment. And no metal wires means you spend less time in your doctor’s office getting adjustments. To learn more about Invisalign, click here.

Intraoral Scanner

The wonder of digital technology now enables you to see what we see when we examine your mouth. Our intraoral camera captures bright, clear images of the inside of your mouth, which you can view on a computer monitor. Images can also be printed out for you to take home.

Dental Laser

A dental laser is an instrument that creates a directed, controlled beam of electro-magnetic energy that vaporizes designated soft tissue. This can almost always be done with out the use of anesthetic. There are many uses for the laser such as the treating gum disease, repositioning a frenum, contouring gum tissue, treating canker sores and cold sores.

Laser Cavity Detection System

We believe it is extremely important that we provide our patients with the finest cavity diagnosis possible. We use the painless Diagnodent digital cavity detection system. Kavo Diagnodent laser allows much earlier detection of tooth decay than previously possible. This allows tooth preservation through preventive dentistry. It is also an extremely accurate diagnostic aid. It has been proven to be over 90% accurate.

Lumineers

Finally, a painless way to reshape and permanently whiten your smile. LUMINEERS are a terrific cosmetic solution for permanently stained, chipped, discolored, misaligned teeth, or even to revitalize old crown and bridgework. LUMINEERS are porcelain veneers that can be made as thin as a contact lens and are placed over existing teeth without requiring painful removal of sensitive tooth structure. In just two or three visits to the dentist, LUMINEERS can provide you with a custom-made smile clinically proven to last up to 20 years. Olson Dental is a certified Lumineers provider.

Intraoral camera

While x-rays provide valuable information that we can’t get from any other source, they can’t show you everything that’s going on in your mouth. That’s why we have invested in an intraoral camera. A highly advanced diagnostic equipment that allows you to see what we see inside your mouth. The intraoral camera handpiece is the size and shape of a dental mirror. It has a built-in light source, and serves as a tiny video camera that allows us to zoom in on one tooth with 25 times magnification, or give you a tour of your mouth. The images are displayed on the television so you’ll be able to see problems such as worn or broken fillings and excessive wear. This allows you to be an active partner in your dental treatment by enabling you to see what we see inside your mouth. With a clear understanding of your dental conditions, you’ll be able to make treatment decisions with confidence.

Sealants

Sealants are a helpful and a tremendous service. However, their use can be misunderstood. Clearly the sealant prevents cavities. Sometimes decay can be sealed under the sealant. In order to prevent this our office uses two devices. The diagnostic is used to measure the condition of the enamel. It will tell the dentist how deep he has to clean the grooves of the teeth. This is accomplished with a fissurotomy bur which is particularly minute in its' construction. Some teeth do not need sealants. The surface may be smooth and the grooves may not be deep. We do not seal teeth with a good chance of decay immunity because of their surface condition.

Initial Oral Examination

Your initial oral examination includes a visual examination, charting, periodontal probing, diagnosis and treatment recommendations. We will also take x-rays, which includes the panoramic x-ray for proper diagnosis of the anterior (front) and posterior (back) teeth as well as the bite-wing x-ray series for proper diagnosis of proximal decay of posterior teeth.

Dental Implants

We will work with an implant specialist to create an implant for a missing single tooth, missing multiple teeth, or replace a removable appliance.

Teeth Bleaching

Our state-of-the-art, in-office Power Bleaching system will make your teeth whiter in less than 1.5 hours. Another option is our home bleaching system you take with you for results in 2 weeks. You can also consider a combination program of both systems for optimal, long-term results.

Crowns and Veneers

You can have a new smile with all-porcelain crowns (empresses material) on the anterior teeth. For the posterior, we use porcelain fused to metal.

Fillings: Resin

Tooth-colored fillings that are light cures to match your teeth. Amalgam: Silver-colored fillings, more durable material.

Root Canals

We perform root canals on anterior and premolar teeth.

Periodontal Treatment

You should have a standard cleaning at least twice a year. A periodontal treatment includes an Adult Prophy (basic cleaning). If it has been over a year since your last cleaning, possible treatment will include either Periodontal Scaling (deeper) or Root Planning and Scaling (requires anesthetic).

Mouth Guards

Whether you are an athlete or casual sports participant, you should wear a mouth guard to protect your teeth. If you grind your teeth while you sleep, a bite guard will help reduce symptoms of TMJ. We custom make mouth guards in both soft and hard materials.

Removable Dental Prosthesis

For missing teeth, we can make dentures or removable partials for you.
